THOSE WE HELP

This is a small sample of those your donations have helped-many more need assistance

My husband only returned from Iraq last August and is facing another deployment next year.He struggled to find employment and settle back into civilian life. We have an autistic son and bills that take all of our hard earned money each month. Some weeks I worry about how we will put gas in our car and what we can combine to make a meal. Now to have to worry about paying high utility payments for providing a warm home for our children which is putting us over the edge. Please help take some of the pressure off of my husband so he can focus on his well being while serving our country.

My name is xxxx, currently stationed at Ft.Lewis as a active duty soldier with the army. I have came on hard times, recently, because of circumstances I can't control. My wife, xxxx, has been ill since September 2007 and has not been able to work. I was severely injured in Mosul, Iraq and have been in and out of the hospital since coming home August 2006. The injury was to my back and was opened up to my spine and has been slow healing. I would get another job, but I find myself exhausted mentally and physically to the point that this would be impossible at the moment. I have paid my bills on time, but we have little to no money for food, clothes, and needed repairs to my car. This is an embarrassing situation which makes me feel very distressed. I, reluctantly, had my wife move back in with her parents until our financial situation improves. My family is going to help in the future, but as of now I'm on my own. We would appreciate any help you can provide. If our rent was paid it would free up money that would help us get ahead and allow me to focus on the mission instead of my finances

I'm a proud army wife- whose reservist husband is on his 3rd deployment. We live in Wisconsin and our furnace just stopped working and must be replaced. Its getting colder and colder, my children are constantly sick, and it stresses my husband out who has enough to worry about in Afghanistan- we need a new furnace and i have no where else to turn. Banks will not help.

My name is xxxx ,my husband is currently deployed.Last month my father in law died and we had to travel out of state for his services, then the 1st of this month we moved out of state. Both of those things put us really far behind on bills. My #1 stress on all the bills right now is my plates, I am driving around with an expired tag. There are a few other bills that are over due like my phone bill which if it gets shut off we will not have any contact with my husband at all. I have used the last of the change around the house for milk and bread to feed our 2 kids. I am at a loss of what to do. I have heard there is all kinds of help out there for us but I am having a real hard time finding any help. Please is there is anything you can do to help us, even if it is to refer us to someone that can help it would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you stressed out Army wife and mother

Greetings, I am praying your organization can help us connect with others to get some assistance in our time of need. My husband is a proud PFC in the Army National Guard and recently deployed to Iraq. We also have a 7 year old daughter with Autism. As you can imagine that challenge on it's own is a difficult one, however with my husband's deployment it has created a load that is nearly to much to bear, emotionally and financially. I had to leave a management position with a good company for a part time job so I can to take care of our daughters needs. Currently, we are having trouble making our house payment and the expenses of the new school year are looming. If there is any financial assistance you can offer we would appreciate it. God Bless.

Hi there! Let me begin by saying that normally I would not ask strangers for help. But this is a case where I'm really desperate. My husband is in AIT in MO until October 2nd, so it's still kinda hard to get ahold of him. Yesterday I had my back passenger tire blow out on the highway, going 70 mph. We didn't crash, thankfully - my toddler son & I. But I had to have it towed, then come to find out that *2* tires need replacing - not just one. I don't know quite what to do. We're in between pay periods with the Army, my paycheck is so measly these reapirs are going to eat it up & there may not be anything left. A man named Roger put me in contact with y'all and it seems like y'all do help military families in desperate need. And, unfortunately, we are that right now.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right spot or not. My husband is now deployed, and making less now than in his civilian job. We have fallen into the 'one month' short area. We have been able to keep afloat for a few months, but it has been hard. We just need help with some bills; electric is 280, water 100 and phone 250. That would catch us up and allow us to stay on a budget much smaller than before. We have two small boys. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Groceries or baby food would be helpful as well. Thank you!

I am writing to request some assistance on a matter that is of great worry to my husband and myself. In June of the year our home was severly damaged by flooding. We lost everything we were storing in our basement. The childrens play area, our food pantry, freezer, washer and dryer, dehumidifier, water heater and furnace were all destroyed. We also had to deal with foundation issues when part of our basement wall started to push in. We applied for help from FEMA and were accepted for an amount that only replaced a few of the appliances needed for daily life.

Hello, we are a military family currently stationed at Ft. Hood, TX. We've been married for 12 years, and have 4 children. I know times are hard for everybody right now with high gas prices and rising food costs. We've had lean times before and God has always provided. We had some unexpected car repairs, (and some that are still waiting to be completed), and several other things are looming ahead of us, but that's not why I'm here. I'm here because despite our best efforts at living as frugally as possible, (keeping electric bills as low as we can by setting our AC at 84, not using lights until necessary, hanging all of our clothes instead of using a dryer) but the bills are still high in the TX summer heat, and we're having trouble feeding our family. Usually we have "emergency" food in the form of canned food, dried beans, rice, flour for bread etc. in the pantry, but we've depleted all that the last couple months and we no longer have a reserve. Things should improve, the Army finance dept. is trying to figure out why we haven't been reimbursed a large amount we're owed for moving expenses we paid 9 months ago when my husband returned from his deployment, but since we've been told that we'll get the money "soon" since the beginning, I can't count on it coming anytime soon. I'm also looking toward back-to-school for 3 of my 4 children, and have been trying to sew "new" clothes for them out of hand-me-downs of various sizes from neighbors, etc. I tell you all of this because I want you to know that we're really doing all we can to use our money and resources wisely, and I hate to ask for anything, but when it comes to my kids being hungry, I can't be afraid to ask for help. Any help with food would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a Sgt E-5 with the Ga. National Guard- scheduled to be deployed very early next year- we have been suffering fianical hardships, and I must leave to get ready for deployment- our power was shut off because we are past due $957 dollars- my wife who is pregenent and 3 kids freeze every night- and the power company will not allow us to pay it off weekly. they insist on the full amount. I would hate to leave my family in that state- is there anything you can do to help

Well, I will start from where everything started going bad for us. In September of this year I received a phone call that my father was in the hospital. He was going to undergo a Quadruple By-pass. I am extremely close to my Dad and had to go home. Myself and my two daughters drove to Colorado. I stayed there for 2weeks and when he got the green light from the doctor I returned home. Come October 1st this year We found out that my husband who came back 1 year ago from Iraq severaly wounded wasnt going to be paid. We later found out that the reason his pay was being held was because when we moved here in June this year, the finance briefing that my husband attended, well his paperwork was never turned in and it put him in transit too long. This set us back big time. then I noticed that my transmission was feeling funny , We purchased a warranty so I took it to Honda to see what if anything was wrong. Well Honda called and informed me that my transmission was coming apart on the inside and the whole thing needed to be replaced and that they were waiting for the warranty adjuster to let them know what to do. Well when they called me back it was horrible news. The warranty company wasnt going to cover this $3000.00 job because of missing service records. I then was on the phone with Front Range Honda where I purchased the vehicle and took it for all but two of my services. They informed me that they deleted these records. So I called Cliff at Hardin County Honda where my vehicle is at and explained to him my situation. He got it to where my cost would be $2138.72 and that includes labor. So here I am an unemployed mother of 4 whose husband is an E-6 in the United States Army- and still rcoveirng from his wounds so he canot work a second job. We just dont have that kind of money. So thats is when I thought why is everything going wrong, and something told me to reach out and not be ashamed to ask for help. That is where you come in. I am not asking that all be paid but anything that you can help with would be great. I have right now 550.97 dollars.
